Interlake Tourism Association Welcomed Minister Flor Marcelino to our Annual General Meeting

The Interlake Tourism Association [ITA] held their Annual General Meeting at Lower Fort Garry National Historic Site last evening, where members of ITA welcomed The Honourable Flor Marcelino- Minister of Culture, Heritage & Tourism.

Gimli High School reaches Gold Level in Tourism Training

CONGRATULATIONS to Gimli High School! Canadian Academy of Travel & Tourism [CATT]program that was introduced to the Gimli High School several years ago has reaped rewards for its students and the Tourism Community.

Interlake Tourism members attend Travel Mb. Provincial awards Gala- One comes home with the Award!

The Interlake Tourism members were well represented in 5 catagories from among 27 finalists at the annual Travel Mb. Provincial Tourism Awards. As the industry from around Manitoba gathered to await the announcements of winners in each of nine (9) categories the Interlake was well represented with our regional winners in place from the ITA 2010 Celebratin of Stars. Leading the charge this year for the Interlake was the West Interlake Trading Company.

The swimming pool and hot tubs are ready for the season so come on out to camp and enjoy early swimming and / or rent one of the hot tubs.

There is a little more LAKE in our INTERLAKE this year!

Although there is more LAKE this year in Manitoba's Interlake most of our tourism businesses are ready and waiting for you to join them on your holidays. I'm told the FISHING is great! Just be cautious of the high water on all Interlake waterways. You may have a detour or two to get to your favourite fishing spot so make sure you phone ahead and pay attention to all posted signage. (When a road is closed do not attempt to use it)

Our 10th Annual Celebration of Stars Awards Dinner took place on Thursday Sept. 15th in Fisher River Cree Nation. We began the evening with welcoming songs & drumming by the Loud Eagle Singers from Pegius & Fisher River.
