Annually, the Gimli Film Festival showcases over 100 feature films, documentaries and short films from Manitoba, Canada and abroad, that promise informative, fascinating and riveting entertainment. The five-day festival in July has free evening screenings on a 35-foot screen perched above the beautiful waters of Lake Winnipeg. When the sun sets on this scenic prairie town, thousands of people make their way down to Gimli beach with their blankets and chairs. They are dedicated to celebrating the art of film to empower, engage and inspire! It is the largest rural film festival in western Canada.
