This monument celebrates the life and work of a renowned Ukrainian Canadian Interlake artist. Wm Kurelek was raised at a Dairy farm in the Stonewall area, starting out as a self taught artist. This monument depicts paintings sketched from his memories of growing up in the Interlake and later his visits home as well as a biography. Well known for 160 works on the Passion of Christ, William also illustrated a number of children’s books.
