This church was built in 1913, given the name Grunnavatns, which means ‘shallow lake’ – likely in reference to nearby Shoal Lake. The church expresses Lutheran architectural traditions in the central tower and tall peaked steeple. An annual service is still held in the church, now renamed the Stony Hill-Otto Church.
Location/Directions: Icelandic communities of Stony Hill and Otto districts, east of Lundar.
