Whytewold Emporium wins the Service Excellence ITA Award
Nominees for Service Excellence
Lakeview Resort & Conference Centre
“A top notch facility nestled in a pristine part of the Interlake” – states the nomination form for this resort that prides itself on making every visit for each guest a happy & memorable experience by anticipating their needs. Empowering his staff to carry through on this promise allows them to do what is necessary to fulfill those memorable experiences.
Giving daily encouragement to staff follows thru on their business & service training while they rely on comment cards & letters from guests and surveys to analyze staff behaviour and service quality to guests.
One letter stated “I was waiting for the bad service to happen, but it never did”. This is now a regular customer recommending the Lakeview as a place to kick back & relax.
Teulon Golf & Country Club
This gem of a Golf Course in the middle of the Interlake received two nominations for Service Excellence, including the club house & the pro shop. This is a well run operation, using a suggestion box on site as well as on their website- feed back from customers is evidently important to them.
Compensating a golfer for uncompleted rounds due to weather conditions makes a loyal & returning customer. From answering the phone with a smile on their face to delivering a hot & tasty meal or a cool beverage in the clubhouse the attitude of managers and staff has put this golf course in the limelight of Service Excellence in the Interlake.
Whytewold Emporium- Owners Karen & Jan Cote
Making your guests feel like they are part of the family, that they have come home is Karen & Jan’s aim when they train by pairing new staff with an experienced staff person. Offering a wide variety of products within the walls of this eclectic hideaway along Lake Winnipeg’s shore, makes offering service excellence a trial of planning & organizing to ensure all pieces to a meal are delivered in the proper order, at the correct temperature from 3 separate cooking areas.
Being a source for travelers in the Dunnottar area is a common happening, making them attempt to keep up to date on events in the area as well as being aware of other tourism & business offerings.
NOTE: No nominees were able to attend the Celebration of Stars to accept their Award. Featured here is Karen Cote behind the jewellery counter at one of the corners of their Eclectic restaurant/ greenhouse
