Lake Winnipeg Adventures

Possible excursions aboard a 12 passenger Zodiac, skippered by a certified captain, on Lake Winnipeg.

Gimli has a large marina, with a breakwater giving it a protected harbour. Just 10 minutes south of Gimli, you’ll find Boundary Creek Marina at Winnipeg Beach, or go farther afield to try the marinas/docks at Hnausa, Gull Harbour on Hecla Island, Grindstone Marina, Pine Dock and Islandview; these provide deep enough water to sail into. Be cautious, powerful storms and winds come up on Lake Winnipeg without much advance notice. Always check the latest weather report before heading out on the water in any watercraft & plan a check in time with someone to ensure they know where you are in case of problems.

You will find marina’s for docking at the Narrows of Lake Manitoba, Steep Rock & Fairford on Lake Manitoba. Watch for the weather, storms turn up unexpectedly on this lake as well. The Shoal Lakes (which is now just one large lake) have kayak/canoe docking at the new campground. Expect to pay a fee for docking at many of the above named sites.
