Have you had your Pyrohy’s or Holubtsi this year?
Immerse yourself in the taste of the Ukrainian culture at least once a year! We know that life is not all about FOOD? Not So! Food and culture are tied closely together. The third large wave of immigration to the Interlake were the many Ukrainian families, often settling in the northern area of the region. Keeping their culture vibrant in the Interlake with their dancing, their food, the artistic work of egg decorating and traditional costuming keeps these ties rooted strongly in their new homeland. Come celebrate with them. Many communities host Malanka’s [New Year’s Eve on the Julian calendar] along with showcasing the regions Ukrainian Dance groups.
