Sharpewood WMA

The WMA’s ridge-and-swale topography has a mixture of aspen forests, open meadows, and wetlands. Ideal habitat for elk, ruffed grouse, and sharp-tailed grouse. Sandhill cranes and raptor species as well.

It is important as a breeding & stop-over location for neo-tropical birds.

Neotropical birds come north to the USA or Canada to nest and go south to Central America or the Caribean for the winter.

Location/Directions: Hwy 7 to Teulon, turn left on Hwy 17, to PR 512 at Chatfield. 16km west of Chatfield.
