Saturday July 1 – Canada Day

Steam Locomotive

There is no better way to celebrate Canada Day than to take a trip aboard the Prairie Dog Central, Canada’s only regularly scheduled operating vintage Steam Locomotive. Relax aboard our vintage coaches as we travel through the blooming Prairies making our way to the rural community of Grosse Isle. Tap your toes as the Audayo Brothers offer live onboard entertainment. During the stopover make your way through the beautifully renovated Heritage Village, indulge in the goodies freshly prepared by the vendors or enjoy more live music. Canada Day is always a celebration so you must join us for cake back at Inkster Junction Station!

Sunday July 2 – Great Train Robbery (Cowboys and Gals)

Rumour in the world of railroading is that those infuriating horseback robbers are on the loose and considering their next ambush. Remain vigilant as we make every effort to avoid this gang of thieves. We are hoping for an uninterrupted trip to Grosse Isle but we must stay alert and report any suspicious activity. We never know what we may encounter during this hilarious, entertaining and interactive trip. On arrival pick up a freshly prepared hotdog or smokie or enjoy your home-prepared lunch but be sure to stop by for some delicious baked goodies or an ice cream cone. Take a stroll through the beautifully restored Heritage House, East Rosser School and take a moment in the Church. Find your seat and get ready to enjoy some live music performed by Prairie Dog favourite the Audayo Brothers.

Thursday July 6 – Heritage Village Picnic

Today we make our way up the line from Inkster Junction Station to the Grosse Isle Heritage Village. Visit with friends as you take a leisurely ride aboard the 1900 era beautifully restored coaches. Tap your toes to the live onboard music by the Audayo Brothers. Awaiting our arrival will be freshly prepared sandwiches, creamy Caesar salad and chips plus a drink followed by bite size dessert. Take time to visit the beautifully restored Heritage House, East Rosser School and take a moment in the Church during the stopover. This weekday picnic is ideal for larger groups and family gatherings. This event sells out so early booking is recommended.

Saturday July 8 – Mystical Magic Train

Join us onboard as we head to the rural community of Grosse Isle. Awaiting our arrival is Gregoire the Astonisher. Pick up a freshly prepared hotdog or smokie along with some baked goods or ice cream and grab your front row seat as we await the show. Patrick’s 45-minute fun and fully interactive performance will have you marvelling in the trickery and sleight of hand. Before we depart and head back to the city make sure you take a walk through the beautifully restored buildings making up the Heritage Village.

Sunday July 9 – Family Fun Day

Back by popular demand, hop onboard for a day that is going to be a complete sensory overload, there’s something for everyone on the PDCR today! The Audayo Brothers will entertain with onboard live music as we make our way to Grosse Isle. There are balloon animals for the kids onboard. Visit the volunteers in the Heritage House, East Rosser School and take a moment in the Church. A magic show will wrap up this fun filled day before we head back to the city. Bring along your own home packed basket lunch or delight in the baked pies, pastries, hot dogs and smokies freshly prepared by the locals. Book early so you don’t miss this entertaining fun packed day.

Saturday July 15 – Prairie Hog Train Robbery

As we quietly sneak up the line, we are hoping to throw these pesky robbers of the scent with our later departure time! Enjoy our onboard entertainment as we make our way to the rural community of Grosse Isle, tap your toes as the Audayo Brothers make their way through the coaches. We are hoping for an uninterrupted ride as we arrive to a delicious supper of Pork in a Bun, Salad and light dessert.  Take a stroll through the wonderfully restored Heritage Village and appreciate more live music as we wrap up this fun filled and fully interactive trip.

NB – Each passenger will receive 1 plate including 1 Pork in a Bun, 2 varieties of salad and light dessert.

Sunday July 16 – Family Day Out With CJOB

Hosted by Manitoba’s favourite Information Super Station, CJOB and featuring one of Winnipeg’s favourite radio personalities. Throughout the trip, visit with the radio personality as we travel from Inkster Junction Station to the beautiful community of Grosse Isle. On arrival visit the local vendors displaying their hand-crafted items or treat yourself to the freshly prepared hotdogs, smokies and baked goods on offer. Stroll through the beautifully restored Heritage House, East Rosser School and Grosse Isle United Church. This ride is a fun and interactive trip enjoyed by everyone!

Saturday July 22 – Sleepy the Clown Comes to Town

Waiting to greet us as we arrive in the beautiful community of Grosse Isle is Winnipeg favourite Sleepy the Clown! Pick up a freshly prepared hotdog or smokie and some sweet treats then find your seat as we prepare for Sleepy’s show, which includes juggling, magic and hilarious clown comedy. Returning to the PDC Railway family after rave reviews in 2022 be sure to book early. After the show take time to visit the local vendors selling their crafts and walk through the beautifully restored Heritage Village.

Sunday July 23 – Prairie Dog Central Railway Day

Join us onboard as we travel to the rural community of Grosse Isle. Sit back and listen as our onboard historian recounts stories of the impact immigration has had to our local areas. Bring along your own picnic or indulge in a freshly prepared hotdog or smokie, leaving space for some baked treats or ice cream. Take a stroll through the beautifully restored heritage buildings before we head back to the city.

Thursday July 27 – Heritage Village Picnic

Hop onboard and join us for a slow-paced trip from Inkster Junction Station to the beautiful community of Grosse Isle, visit with family and friends as we make our way up the line. Enjoy live onboard entertainment by Prairie Dog Central favourites the Audayo Brothers. On arrival in Grosse Isle the volunteers will serve freshly prepared sandwiches, Caesar salad, chips and small dessert plus a drink. Take time to stroll through the 1886 Heritage House, the 1 room schoolhouse and the Grosse Isle United Church before we make our way back to the city. This weekday picnic is ideal for larger groups and family gatherings.

Saturday July 29 – Propellers, Tracks and Wheels

We recommend that you arrive early and have plenty of time to enjoy the cars and model airplanes on display at Inkster Junction Station. Take time to walk around and chat with the enthusiastic volunteers who operate and maintain the vehicles and model planes. When it’s time to leave hop onboard for our trip up the line to Grosse Isle. Enjoy the sights and sounds as we make our way through the prairies and kick back and tap your toes to the live onboard music by PDC favourites The Audayo Brothers. Appreciate the slow pace of the stopover, climb through the cab of the Steam locomotive or take a closer look at the vehicles that have followed us up the track. Pick up a freshly prepared hotdog, smokie or some baked goods before we head back to the city.

Sunday July 30 – Great Train Robbery (Cowboys and Gals)

And here we go again, it has been reported that those brazen Cowboys ‘n Gals have been spotted up the track. Please be alert as we try to evade the robbers this time around and be prepared to hand over any spare change should you have to. During the stopover enjoy freshly prepared hot dogs and smokies, baking or an ice cream cone, while relaxing to the live tunes by the Audayo Brothers. Visit the beautifully restored Heritage House, the East Rosser School or take a moment in the Church before we take a leisurely ride back to the city.
