Spring hits the Interlake differently than it does in most of Manitoba.
Sitting between two massive lakes, the region warms unevenly; cool air off the water keeps mornings crisp, while afternoons stretch long and playable. Courses can open earlier than you’d expect, and conditions change week to week, which means no two rounds feel the same.
The land itself shapes the game.
Much of the Interlake sits on an ancient lakebed, with limestone just beneath the surface. The farther north you go, the more interesting it gets.
Fairways tend to play firm in the spring, rewarding clean contact and thoughtful shot placement. Wind is your constant companion, forcing players to work the ball, adjust club choice, and stay engaged from tee to green.
And because the terrain isn’t overly sculpted, golf fits naturally into the region. Wooded sections, elevation shifts, and wind corridors make courses feel intentional rather than tacked on, appealing to players who enjoy reading the land as much as going for distance.
Whether you’ve been golfing for years or are just getting started, there’s a course that fits.
